All of the techniques for generating loan leads that we have covered in this tutorial will be more successful if people feel they can trust you. Let’s face it … with the state of the economy today, every mortgage professional can benefit from a “trust campaign.”

This is where website quality comes into the picture, and it has everything to do with the number of loan leads you generate through your site. When you have a quality website with plenty of useful content, good organization, bios on you and your staff — and other hallmarks of a quality site — people will be more inclined to trust you.

By extension, they will be much more likely to take that first step and contact you, or fill out your mortgage quote form … or whatever form of website conversion you’re after. Now you can see the connection between the level of quality you build into your website, and the number of loan leads you get out of it. I assure, it’s a strong connection!

Website Organization is Key

Good organization is a key trait of quality websites. In the age of information overload, clutter and advertising “noise,” organization becomes all the more important. It stands to reason that you can generate more loan leads through your website if people can find their way through it. This is where organization and usability come into play.

Just keep in mind that the more content you add to your site, the neater things must be. Organize your website content so people can find things easily. Keep things clean and uncluttered. Within ten seconds, people should be able to identify the correct path to the information they seek or the tool they want to use.

Right about now, you might be saying: “Well how am I supposed to keep my website organized with all of the lead generation techniques you’ve suggested?” That’s a fair question. We have certainly covered a lot of techniques in the lead gen tutorial. But that doesn’t mean you can’t keep them well organized on your site. It takes some trial and error, but even the most information-rich websites can be organized well.

Sample Menu Area

For example, look at the mock menu sketch I’ve created to the right. This group of buttons could easily be placed in a key area of your site. It wouldn’t take up much room at all. It’s nice and neat.At the same time, it contains several of the lead generation techniques we have discussed thus far — online chat programs, mortgage quotes, Q&A programs, etc.

This is what you want to do on your own site. Combine lead generation techniques in an organized and easy-to-use fashion like this, and you’ll generate more loan leads as a result.

Simplify Your Lead Generation Paths

On a mortgage website, the ultimate goal is to lead visitors down a certain path. Typically, this path ends with the visitor performing some sort of action — filling out a mortgage request form, contacting you, clicking on a chat button, etc. You have very little control over what people do and where they go when reaching your website. So the best you can do is present your path, make it very easy to follow, and explain the value it offers.

Keep things simple and organized. Build quality and professionalism into your website. Make it the kind of site that inspires trust from visitors. Combine these things with the lead generation techniques we’ve discussed previously, and your website will produce more loan leads in the end. And that’s the key to succeeding online in today’s tough mortgage market.
