In the previous lesson in this series, I talked about the concept of landing pages as they apply to mortgage loan lead generation. I even gave you an example of a landing page that might be used on a mortgage website. In this post, I’ll offer tips for increasing the traffic to your landing page(s).
This article series is primarily focused on mortgage loan lead generation, and not traffic generation. But this is a great opportunity to talk about some of the ways you generate traffic to your website in general, and your landing pages in particular.
In the previous lesson, John Doe (our fictitious mortgage broker from San Diego) was offering a free booklet on avoiding home foreclosre as a way to generate mortgage refinace leads through his website. Here are some of the things he could do to increase the number of visitors to his landing page — and, ultimately, increase the number of leads produced through the strategy:
- Submit a press release online to announce his free booklet.
- Submit the same press release to local news outlets.
- Experiment with pay-per-click marketing techniques like Google AdWords.
- Optimize the page with keyword-rich content for search engine visibility.
- Put a prominent link to this page on the home page and elsewhere.
- Promote the booklet through an email newsletter, if such a program is used.
These are just a few of the ways John could drive web traffic to the key areas of his site. The search engine optimization / SEO strategy in particular is worth pursuing, because it offers long-term benefits (search engine visibility and traffic). This is why I stress the importance of SEO on your website. It can help you generate mortgage loan leads on a consistent basis, well into the future.
